blog #2 Personal Principles
The principle i follow for the most part is just to be a good person. I was always taught as a kid to never talk bad about or judge other people. My parents and things I've learned and read about have influenced my principles and beliefs. My principles aren't based on a religion, because I don't practice any religion. I was raised in a Muslim family, but i never got into practicing Islam and I went to a Catholic high school and learned about the religion but it also didn't appeal to me. I think there is something bigger than us, like God, but my personal belief is that even if you do believe in religion and God you shouldn't live to just please him/her or anyone else. You should live for yourself and do what you want to do (as long as you aren't hurting anyone else). By that i don't mean everyone should go out just party and not work or anything, but you shouldn't look for other peoples approval when you want to do something.
I don't think the readings from class have really changed my principles yet. They have got me thinking more about what I believe and they have made me more open minded to other ideas and ways of living.
